The world can be scary. And also Awesome.

The world is so scary sometimes. With Russia invading Ukraine, it’s easy to see the world as a scary, bad place. There are certainly bad people all around. I can scarcely scroll my phone without seeing an article about babies dying or terrible things happening to good people.
The pandemic can also make it seem like this world is going to hell in a hand basket. But do you know what else is true?
The world is getting better all the time. Human are amazing at making this world better too. Anything that can be used for evil can also be used for good. The internet makes it faster and easier than ever to connect with people all over the world. Help can get to people faster than ever. We can know about a conflict and mobilize to help. People have been sharing ideas about what we can ACTUALLY do to help people in Ukraine. Photos are circulating of mothers leaving strollers at train stations so that refugees who ran with their babies have a stroller if the need it.
Don’t forget to show your brain all the good that is happening too. It’s not to pretend the bad isn’t happening, but to help bolster hope and confidence, which, in turn, will motivate you to get out and be a force for good in the world.
Today I had a consult with a woman in Uganda. Uganda! Maria, if you see this, HI!!!!! It was super fun. She got online and used Google to find a coach. Somehow she found me and next thing you know, I am talking to her in real time over zoom. On the other side of the world! Her sweet personality and energy won me over immediately. This would have never happened without today’s technology and the brilliant humans always trying to make this world better. This world is amazing! Be sure to give equal time and attention to the good in the world!!
